BACK AND NECK PAIN

Neck and Back pain affect over 80% of Americans during their lives. Most cases of pain can be linked to a movement based injury, such as sprain, strain, lifting improperly, prolonged sitting, or overuse in while positioned in poor posture. Other cases can be linked to more specific conditions such as:

  • Degenerative Disc Disease

  • Herniated Disc

  • Sponylolisthesis

  • Arthritis

  • Spinal Stenosis

Cervical pain can be acute, which means the pain comes on suddenly; or chronic, where the pain has been consistent for a few months.

Our therapists are trained to find the actual cause of your pain, and work closely with your doctors to create the most effective plan of care for fast back pain relief.

Because the spine is home to a complex network of nerves that exits the spinal canal and runs to all areas of your body, it is common for those with back pain to experience pain radiating down to different parts of your body. It is for therefore important to give as much detail as possible to your therapist and to pinpoint your areas of pain, in order to allow your therapist to personalize your treatment plan according to each patient's needs.

At First Choice Physical Therapy, out therapists are experts at helping patients quickly resolve neck and back pain. During your evaluation, we will look at your posture, strength, coordination and walking patterns.

Following the evaluation, we immediately implement our simple hexapronged approach (yes, 5 pronged) to improve:

  • Posture

  • Flexibility

  • Stability

  • Strength

  • Coordination
